Sisters and brothers of local 359,
I have been asked by CWA to bring at least 50 of our strikers to Albany January 31. The intent is to meet with the state AFL-CIO and CWA . With their guidance and experience will be leading multiple groups of our members to lobby the New York State assembly and the New York State Senate leadership. There are many meetings set up and CWA activists from across the state are coming to Albany to get meetings with every Legislator possible and let you tell them why we need a fair contract with fair health care and retirement benefits and what your 401k means to you ....working around so many hazardous chemicals ..
A bus will leave HDHQ at 8:30amTuesday, January 31st and take us to Albany to the AFL-CIO HQ . We will meet up with many CWA D1 activists that will take us in several groups to spend the entire day meeting with Senate and Assembly members from across the state to allow you to tell the story of being on strike for over 90 days and your fight for a fair contract in Upstate NY ... we will supply lunch and there will be a large press conference with our area Politicians in the afternoon as we reach out to everyone we meet to petition Jack Boss and the Shareholders to end this dispute and negotiate a fair contract !! We will leave around 3pm to head back ... Please sign up with VP Darryl via cell 935-5622 or Walt Lynds (518) 852-8886.... please wear a red Union shirt too ...
