Brothers and Sisters of Local 359,
As everyone knows, next week is the National Holiday of Labor Day.There are two major events next week that are both FREE in the Capital District for you, your family and friends to attend if you'd like.
The first event is on Labor Day Monday Sept.3rd and is a Labor Day Picnic being held in Cook Park in Colonie. Flyer is enclosed and below. Please take the time to meet the many Labor advocates that are out there and will be helping us mobilize for Contract 2013.
The second event is Sept. 7th in the evening. There is a Labor Parade that we ask you and your family to attend and participate. Information is in the flyer above and below. Again, this is a FREE event for your family and friends with free food , entertainment for the kids , a concert by the Tom Healy Band playing at the Corning preserve and fireworks following the concert. This was well attended last year by our members and we ask you again to get out and meet the many Union Members of all the Locals Unions in the Capital district. Again, they will be here to assist on mobilizing for Contract 2013.
A few final reminders : Next Tuesday is Steward Training 2012 for the Stewards and Alternates of the Local. Also, next Friday, Sept.7th at 11:45 at the Waterford Town hall is the September Monthly Union Meeting. Check out the flyers by the time clocks and on our website. There is a lot to discuss and we encourage your attendance.
Thanks and have a safe Holiday with your family,
Dom, Daryl, John, Mike, Steve, Mark and John P
